Join the Synod Stewardship Committee in an online book study of Grateful: The Transformative Power of Giving Thanks by Diana Butler Bass. This time of physical distancing is challenging and difficult for everyone in very different ways. Yet we are finding examples of great generosity and hearing stories of gratitude and thankfulness. We invite you to join your sisters and brothers across the synod in an online book study about the history, practicality and great wonder of Gratitude. A word that is more than an emotion, an ethic or a practice.
“If gratitude is good, why is it so hard to do? In Grateful, Diana Butler Bass untangles our conflicting understandings of gratitude and sets the table for a renewed practice of giving thanks.” – From the Publisher
There will be 4 study group gatherings for 4 consecutive weeks. Each week we will offer the same discussion at two different times in order to accommodate various schedules. You are welcome to join one or both discussions or join different ones each week, on Tuesdays at 7pm and Thursdays at 1pm beginning May 19.

Where to find the book?
Amazon
In addition to hardcover and soft cover editions, Amazon offers a kindle, or e-reader option and audio book option as well.
Barnes and Noble
Your nearby B&N may have a copy waiting on the shelf that you can order for contactless pick up. Give them a try!
Partner with a local book store
Give them a call, find out if they can get it for you from their supplier, if they do not already have it on hand. For example, IndieBound.
Your local library
Libraries are working through this time in creative ways (as libraries always are!) Some may be offering contactless pick up, but many offer e-books and audio books you can check out on line. Give them a try!
Try your friends and colleagues
Many of us have collections of books that we are most happy to lend and share with others. Put out the word on social media, and see if anyone might be willing to share their copy.
