The Synod Council is the synod's board of directors.

It functions as the interim legislative authority between meetings of the Synod Assembly. The members include ministers and lay leaders from each of the six conferences, one youth member, one young adult member, and members elected at large.

Among the responsibilities of the synod council are: recommending program goals and budgets to the assembly, carrying out the resolutions of the assembly, and providing annual reviews of the roster.
