Preaching for Lay Worship Leaders: Developing the Sermon

  • First Evangelical Lutheran Church 246 South Main Street Greensburg, PA, 15601 United States (map)

Each week, lay worship leaders stand in front of faithful Christians and preach the good news of Jesus Christ.  They support the people of God when a pastor cannot be present by providing solid leadership, faithful biblical interpretation, and solid proclamation. This workshop with Dr. David von Schlichten will encourage and instruct lay worship leaders in the formation of sermons. Topics will include structure, bible study, theological accuracy, use of personal stories, references to literature and news, and crediting sources.

Registration is now closed. For questions about your registration, contact Pastor Peter Asplin at peter.asplin@swpasynod.org.
