“What is the Gospel?”

This book is intended to be a gift to the people of Southwestern Pennsylvania and an invitation to all readers who harbor a desire to rekindle a passion for the Gospel.

In our baptism, we are to “proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed” (ELW 236). This book will help congregation members and study groups engage the mystery and complexity of the Gospel so that they can live out their baptismal call with confidence and clarity.

LEADER’S GUIDE FOR SMALL GROUP BOOK STUDY

This guide walks through the text by chapter and provides exercises for reflection and group conversation, as well as question prompts and advice for facilitators. It was written by Dr. Wendy Farone who serves on our Synod Council. This supplemental guide may serve as a small group study for confirmands, a study for adults who are interested in learning even more about the Gospel, or as serves your specific needs.
