Hiring Full-Time Office Administrator

 

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR Job Description

The Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America—a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization—is seeking a candidate to perform general office administration. The Office Administrator reports to the Bishop and works in collaboration with staff and officers.

DUTIES:

  • Maintain accurate membership records, contacts, and files

  • Assist in office correspondence through phone, email, and postal mail

  • Prepare reports, contracts, and forms

  • Provide administrative assistance for the Bishop and the Synod Secretary, including scheduling

  • Assist occasionally in taking minutes and preparing mailings

  • Manage and stock office supply inventory

  • Interface with office vendors as needed

  • Attend and support one annual offsite event lasting up to four days that requires travel

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and basic database input

  • Professional communication skills

  • Availability to respond to occasional pressing needs outside of regular office hours

  • Obtain Act 33/34 clearances

  • Knowledge of and respect for the nature of the Lutheran Church’s purpose

This position will be full-time onsite in the Perrysville area of Ross Township/North Hills with some remote flexibility. Paid benefits are included for this salaried position. The anticipated starting date is January 2, 2025.
