The Synod Office is MOVING!
Last year, we shared the big news that our synod would be selling our office building as a way to best support the work of our mission.
Today, we announce that our new location is official!
Moving just down the road to the Perrysville section of Perry Highway, the synod will be leasing office space at a location that better meets our current needs. Beginning in November, we will be located at:
1014 Perry Hwy, Suite 200
Pittsburgh, PA 15237
Why This Move Matters
Many factors went into deciding what makes an office the *right* move for our ministry. We differentiated between wants and needs, yet found a space that meets all of our needs and a few of our wants as well.
Goals Met:
Responsible Stewardship
The financial savings of our new space assists us in creating an annual budget without deficit.
Enhanced Accessibility
The new space will more easily welcome all within our synod with an elevator and wheelchair accessible restrooms.
Flexible Meetings
We can now offer working and meeting space to teams within our synod after hours and with remote access.
Bonus Features:
Resource Ministry
We prepared to let go of a physical model for the Resource Ministry, yet this space allows for a home base to this ministry to continue.
Inclusive Space
The new office allows for a nursing and infant changing space for parents of our youngest synod members.
Neighborhood Partnership
Unlike corporate office parks, our office is embedded in a neighborhood and will offer opportunities to be good neighbors to the Perrysville community.
The sale of our office is not yet finalized but we believe it to be in the final days of closing.
What This Means for Your Congregation
Please inform your congregation's administrator, staff, council, and volunteers that may send mail to the synod office. Update any databases, spreadsheets, labels, or directories to reflect the new office address.
Items to Update:
Mission Support
Grant Applications
Parochial Reports
Congregation Newsletters
Worship Supply Requests
Cards & Correspondence
See You There
As is the current policy during the Covid-19 pandemic, the new office will be open by appointment and the staff will be primarily working from home. We look forward to offering working space for group meetings, but should your committee or synod team need to meet online for the time being, we may be able to assist you with Zoom meetings. For office appointments or zoom meetings, contact office@swpasynod.org.
Parking
Street parking is available along Perry Highway; additional parking (including van parking) is also available at the rear of the building in either the upper or lower lot. To access the parking lot, turn down Cemlar or Jackson Streets onto Smith Drive.
